Plant Description

Bush Rose The Wren is a garden rose grown for the appeal of Rosa 'The Wren', with pink flowers from summer into autumn and green deciduous foliage. This Rose is an excellent choice for borders, containers and patio pots, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest. It is especially effective from summer into autumn, and performs best in a sunny spot.

Bush Rose The Wren is a lovely choice for bringing classic romance, colour and long-lasting interest to the garden through the flowering season. As a bush rose, it lends itself well to feature planting, mixed borders and traditional rose displays. The blooms also offer light fragrance, adding another layer of garden appeal. Reaching around 1.2m at maturity, it is best planted through the middle of a border and in pots and containers with a sunny spot. As a deciduous plant, it brings a fresh flush of new growth each season. It is suitable for outdoor growing in most UK gardens. It performs best in sandy, loam or chalk soils that remain well drained. It can also be a useful plant for bees, birds, hedgehogs and beneficial insects.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.
Overwatering is the most common issue. Avoid placing in direct sunlight which can scorch leaves. Don't repot too frequently - most plants prefer to be slightly root-bound. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce or stop feeding in winter when growth naturally slows.
