Plant Description

Geranium 'Intense' is a hardy, low-growing, long-flowering perennial, with pink flowers and green seasonal foliage. This Hardy Geranium is an excellent choice for borders, containers, ground cover, cottage garden, pollinator planting, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest. It is especially effective in summer|autumn, and performs best in full sun or partial shade.

Geranium 'Intense' is a reliable choice for UK gardens when planted in the right conditions. Reaching around 40cm at maturity, it works well in border front, ground cover, container. It performs best in clay, loam, sandy soils that are well-drained. It can also be useful for bees and pollinators. A useful hardy geranium for softening path edges, filling gaps and bringing repeat colour to mixed borders.

Supplied in a 3L pot, this size offers a practical starting point for planting out, patio displays or growing on at home.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.
Overwatering is the most common issue. Avoid placing in direct sunlight which can scorch leaves. Don't repot too frequently - most plants prefer to be slightly root-bound. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce or stop feeding in winter when growth naturally slows.
