It is especially effective in summer|autumn, and performs best in full sun.

Dahlia 'Happy Days Halo' is a reliable choice for UK gardens when planted in the right conditions. Reaching around 60cm at maturity, it works well in border middle, container, patio. It performs best in loam, sandy soils that are moist but well-drained. It can also be useful for bees and pollinators. Dark foliage gives strong contrast to the flowers, making it useful for patio pots and sunny mixed borders.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.

Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce or stop feeding in winter when growth naturally slows.
