Plant Description

Cyclamen hederifolium is a bulbous garden plant, with pink flowers in autumn and green evergreen foliage. This Cyclamen is an excellent choice for borders, containers, woodland-style planting and ground cover, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest. It is especially effective in autumn, and performs best in partial to full shade.

Cyclamen hederifolium is well suited to seasonal displays, adding reliable colour and texture in borders, containers and mixed planting. As a tubers-type bulb, it is easy to position in groups for a fuller, more natural-looking effect. Reaching around 0.1m at maturity, it is best planted at the front of a border and in pots and containers with partial to full shade. Its evergreen foliage ensures year-round presence in the garden. It is suitable for outdoor growing in most UK gardens. It performs best in clay or loam soils that remain well drained. It can also be a useful plant for bees and beneficial insects.

Supplied as dormant tubers, this product is ready to plant in the appropriate season for reliable establishment and flowering.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.
Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.
Overwatering is the most common issue. Avoid placing in direct sunlight which can scorch leaves. Don't repot too frequently - most plants prefer to be slightly root-bound. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce or stop feeding in winter when growth naturally slows.
