Camellia j. 'William Bartlett' is a versatile shrub, with pink flowers from spring into winter and green evergreen foliage. This Camellia is an excellent choice for borders, containers, woodland-style planting and patio pots, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest. It is especially effective from spring into winter, and performs best in sun or partial shade.

Camellia j. 'William Bartlett' is low-maintenance once established and suits a wide range of garden styles, from traditional borders to more contemporary planting combinations. Reaching around 2.5m at maturity, it is best planted towards the back of a border, in pots and containers and as a specimen plant with sun or partial shade. Its evergreen foliage ensures year-round presence in the garden. It is suitable for outdoor growing in most UK gardens. It performs best in sandy or loam soils with moist conditions. It can also be a useful plant for bees and beneficial insects.

Planting & Aftercare

Choose a pot with drainage holes slightly larger than the nursery pot. Use well-draining potting mix. Place the plant at the same depth it was in the original pot. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water when the top 2-3cm of soil feels dry. In spring and summer, this is typically once a week. Reduce watering in autumn and winter. Always check the soil before watering to avoid overwatering.
