Brunnera macr. 'Betty Bowring' is a reliable herbaceous perennial grown for the appeal of Brunnera macrophylla 'Betty Bowring', with blue flowers from summer into autumn and green deciduous foliage. This Siberian Bugloss is an excellent choice for borders, containers, woodland-style planting, patio pots and ground cover, where it brings colour, texture and seasonal interest. It is especially effective from summer into autumn, and performs best in partial to full shade.
Brunnera macr. 'Betty Bowring' is low-maintenance once established and suits a wide range of garden styles, from traditional borders to more contemporary planting combinations. Reaching around 0.4m at maturity, it is best planted at the front of a border, in pots and containers and in woodland-style planting with partial to full shade. As a deciduous plant, it brings a fresh flush of new growth each season. It is suitable for outdoor growing in most UK gardens. It performs best in clay or loam soils with moist conditions. It can also be a useful plant for bees and beneficial insects.
